I have a pretty active social life, so it's common for me to have people at my house. I like to entertain and enjoy a houseful.
Many of my group live a distance from my house, so I don't get drop ins. An hour or two notice is common and fine with me. My house is pretty much always company ready

Maybe twice a month?

We kinda live retro in our neighborhood - in & out of each other's homes all day long, just like our Moms and grams did when I was growing up.I sometimes get company before I even get dressed in the morning - but I give them a cup of coffee and go throw some clothes on. Right now one of my neighbors is using my sewing machine in my sewing room.

Very rarely and I would never visit someone unannounced. Our neighborhood of 23 homes is like me, I never see visitors at most of the homes. Even on holidays I notice they stay to themselves, I only see visitors at maybe 2 or 3 homes. It seems quite different from when I was growing up.

Zero. We host family and others occasionally, but not often.

While we were having lunch DH noted how quiet it is here now because many of our neighbors have headed north for the holidays already. However, starting Jan1 it will get very crazy busy as ALL the snowbirds show up and the "season" begins. 3 months of crowds and traffic then once April comes it all calms down again. Once all our neighbors arrive here there is very little peace & quiet during the day - but our evenings are quiet.

I rarely have anyone come for a visit. Most of the people in my developement are not the most friendly. Most of the older people have moved on (we are the last of the older folks still left here). I am out twice a day for walks, if any of the neighbors are outside when i take my walks we may chat for a few minutes other than that, that is about all visiting that goes on around my development.

Aproximately - ZERO. ![]()
I'm happy with that. I really don't have any local friends anymore. We don't have family except my father, who lives almost across the country now, and my husband has a daughter who lives hundreds of miles away. They get together from time to time, so that's good.
I had many years of great social activity, so I'm not putting it down. I loved it. Now, for me, is a different time. I enjoy being alone. I don't even go out to eat anymore because I'd rather not eat in front of others, due to the esophagus thing. Sometimes I have extreme pain when eating and/or have to 'refund' because food gets all balled up at my esophagus. I don't think anybody else needs to be subjet to that!
I do love being alone, though. I really do.

To actually come over and sit with me and visit? None.
I get and make phone calls that are "visits" of a sort, we're pretty much all spread out. My primary family lives in north Jersey where I was born. It's a two-three hour drive to Bergen County, Sussex County.
Yet we are a close, loving family.
