Re: General Mills Cereal

[ Edited ]

They have had this cereal at Costco for a while....I picked up a box when I saw the price since the box is smaller than all the other cereals they carry but is over twice as much. Nothing on the ingredient panel looked that much different than some other cereals,  so I passed on it.
Glorified granola.

The profit margin on this cereal must be huge!

I don't eat cereal.  DH will buy some of those ingredients in bulk and put together his own snack to nosh on but not as cereal.

Too much sugar and honestly if it's supposed to be so healthy-why is it priced just for those who can afford it?

With the first ingredient being almonds (here we go with the almond craze) I don't see this as a cereal.

You could probably buy trail mix for less and add milk to it.

Oy.

Not me! As I said in my other post, I buy family size on sale 2 for $5. Sometimes target even has GM cereals Giant size for same price. Right now $2.99 is my upper limit, and on any cereal.

I buy small bags of "salad toppings" and often add them to oatmeal or other dry cereal. The toppngs contain similar ngredients.

Good idea about the yogurt .... I'll have to try that with the toppings.

It looks more like granola than cereal. The first ingredient is almonds rather than oats or wheat like most conventional cereals. Almonds are about $8 a pound in the bulk section of my market while oats are 99 cents a pound.

And I complain about paying $3.99 for my Special K cereal!Woman LOL

Only buy it when I'm at Wegman's; it's $2.99 there.
