Gearing up for a new puppy...give me your best advice!!

After losing our beloved 15 year old golden 2 years ago it has taken a while for me to want to get another dog. My husband and 10 year old daughter have worn me down. We have fallen in love with a little golden love bug who's name will be "Dinah Flo" (think Boz Scaggs) and we will be bringing her home mid March. I think I more nervous about this then when I had my daughter. LOL!!

We got our last golden when she was 2 years old so never delt with the puppy thing. We have been reading everything we can find so have some good info, but I know so many of you are animal lovers/experts so would love to hear some advice/stradigies about the first few weeks with a puppy. TIA.
