GUM CUTTING FOR PERIODONTAL DISEASE

Has anyone ever had their gums cut due to peridontal disease?

A friend of mine was told by her dentist that unless she has this done she will lose her molars within 2 years.

She is terrified of the thought of this. Can anyone share any information. thank you
