Card - signed with all three of your names - check for $50 or even $25 since you don't know them real well.

Wow.  Very generous for "just" a neighbor/brother of daughter's friend (who you don't even know) when you're not even attending the party.  Sounds like a greedy money grab. 

 

Hubby & I are going to a grad party Saturday for a close friend of hubby's and giving $50 to the graduate. 

 

In our area high school grad parties are big - college grad parties are non-existent.  Usually the immediate family goes out to dinner.
