Re: GAMES, BRAIN ACTIVITY AND FALLING ASLEEP

@BirkiLady ---Don't know about the red light thing--but have read---somewhere-- about blue lights and it effecting sleep--you should google it. I have horrible sleeping --maybe 5 hours on a good night---and have had it FOREVERWoman Sad seems  more so after having kids--I could hear them sneeze thru any closed door/doors  at 2 a.m. ----common mother thing   --but  turning off the tech stuff does seem to help and it doesn't take that long maybe 2 weeks to notice. I know there are blue light filters for deices too.

Re: GAMES, BRAIN ACTIVITY AND FALLING ASLEEP

I do brain and word games as well as mahjong type games during my lunch hour and in the evening.  I stop at 6:30 p.m. to prepare dinner then watch my only two hours of television.

My favorite of the games Match Pair 3D, finding two matching objects in a limited time in big pile of jumble/mess can be tough sometimes.

Re: GAMES, BRAIN ACTIVITY AND FALLING ASLEEP

I suppose it differs from person to person.  The only thing that keeps me from sleeping is anger.  I play games, watch videos and read books on my iPad at all times of the day and I've never noticed it interfering with my sleep.  In fact, I might go to bed right in the middle of playing a game, etc. because I cannot stay awake another minute.

To wind down, I usually read for an hour or two at bedtime.

Lately, I've been playing a couple online word games late at night ... and am wondering if this could be connected to my taking longer to fall asleep.

Of course, it could be something else, but I'd love your feedback.  If you play games late at night, do they help you wind down ... or stimulate your brain and make it more difficult to fall asleep?

No it keeps me excited. You know one more time. I play them In the morning to wake up. I love the series Murdoch on freevee tv, but it puts me to sleep, so x I finish waiting the next day. I don,t watch exciting series before sleep.

Re: GAMES, BRAIN ACTIVITY AND FALLING ASLEEP

If you are playing any games on the computer or other device before bed, the light of the screen is stimulating, as is anything that you have to think about too much, like puzzles or games. I usually just go to bed and do games in my mind....like thinking of 10 citiies that begin with A, then B, etc. I usually don't make it past H. My eyes are closed, so less stimulating; my neurologist suggested it. I change topics every few days.
