Futons--Opinions please!

I live in a 1 bedroom apt. but sometimes have overnight guests. I need a new couch but don't want to buy a hide-a-bed because they weigh so much. Today I stopped at Slumberland and found a futon that seemed attractive and sturdy. Plus it had an innerspring mattress which is apparently a new feature. I have vague memories of people complaining about their futons from years ago but wondered if anyone was happy with newer models. Help and thank you!!!
