Fusing ankle???

I finally met with a Pain Management MD Anesthesiologist today for my multiple issues.

The ankle is the worst at this time so we are starting there first. Sadly because I broke it almost 30 years ago so badly, he is not sure what he can do. We are going to try to do injections next week, he isn't sure there is enough space to inject into...then mentioned fusing. Skeered the bejeebers out of me!

Has anyone had this done? I have walked with a limp for all this time, but not a real noticeable limp. I was happy to walk at all - they said I wouldn't! My son said you can limp with pain, or limp worse without pain???

Any one who has experience with this I sure would appreciate your opinions on it...
