OK. I'll start this off. I'm 62, and here are a few things I learned in school. (I'll admit, I had a bunch of ancient teachers in grade school. I think they were the type who only had two year degrees from a "Normal School.") These are no longer considered acceptable.
1. Christopher Columbus discovered America
2. Today could be spelled to-day
3. Tomorrow could be spelled to-morrow
4. Tonight could be spelled to-night
5. You could use the term "especial" instead of "special." For instance, "We had an especial meal tonight."
6. When typing, always put two spaces after a period. I read recently that that is no longer accurate...just one space now.
7. Never start a sentence with the word "And." Now, I read where someone wrote that it is acceptable to start a sentence with the word "And"...but, only if you are a good writer. LOL! What arrogance!
And (
) what did you learn in school that is no longer accurate?
