Have a coworker issue and need some advice on steps to address ongoing problem. We have a group of 20 people split up in two groups. We sit pretty much in cubicles but open and close to one another. There is one person who constantly interrupts others when they are talking. If one addresses another person specifically by name to ask a question, she jumps out of her chair and walks right in to answer (even though she was not asked). If a person throws out a question to the group, that's one thing. But this girl does it continually more and more. Others have complained and gone to the supervisor, myself included, and he said it's been addressed with her and he knows it's an issue. She is totally aware of what she is doing and even has admitted to it in group meetings.
Yesterday one girl from the other group called me for help. I told her I would be right over. I hung up and walked over to her desk. We were in the middle of discussing how she should handle something when KIA (know-it-all as she is well named) steps right in taking over the situation and it was like I was not even there. I glared at her and started talking again and she interrupts me again, takes over the conversation, and at that point I stormed away. The thing here is she then comes over to me at my desk and says (in baby talk, if you can imagine) "I torry for tepping on your toes -- I didn't mean it" ...
She knows she's doing it and I feel it's intentional. I find it rude and no one does it to her. It's demeaning and she kind of like uses it as a bullying tactic. It's just getting progressively worse and I don't know, other than becoming increasingly frustrated and angry, how to handle this. Should I bring this to my supervisors attention, again?
