Friending on Facebook ???

Wondering if any one else has experienced this:

I have been "confirmed" as a friend by 3 different people (all of whom I know), that I never asked to befriend; most recently again today. (two are former co-workers, and 1 is my ex-bil) I don't have a problem with them being my friends, but I'm baffled by this?

Has anyone had this happen to them?

Very curious. Thanks.
