It is not as significant to have a good life, but rather to do good things
with your life. Lord, I am grateful for the talents with which You have
blessed me and I pray that they will not go unused.

Scripture for the day:

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you
as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let
them be afraid." ~John 14:27

Meditation for the day:

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you
as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let
them be afraid." Lord, we thank you for the gift of peace. This is
the peace that only God can give in the midst of a restless world and
surrounded by trouble and difficulty. To know that peace is to have
received the stamp of the kingdom of God. When we have earned that
peace, we are fit to judge between true and false values, between the
values of the kingdom of God and the values of all that the world has
to offer.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may have inner peace. I pray that today I may be at
peace with myself.

Hello my friends! Today was a great blessing having Father Mark over for
lunch again - and hope there will be many more! We both already love him!
He's such a loving, caring person. A couple years ago when Linus was
considering selling Lighthouse Catholic Media - the Cd's for parishes - but
he decided against it, today when Father Mark was over, I happened to show
him a CD and told him about the business, and he was all gun ho on it, and
took information along with him to show his fellow priests and if he wants
this in our parish he'll help Linus in getting priests to buy it from him.
So now we'll contact the lady to find out how to get started again, this to
be just a part time job, not a full time one. He's already got his business
cards made for Lighthouse. Please pray it all works out! The enthusiasm of
Father Mark may just rub off on Linus to do this! We gave Father Mark more
lettuce from the garden, some peppers, and a squash, we have several.
Praying for all of you for all your intentions and thank you so much for
your prayers for us - much appreciated!

Give us your words Lord, so we may speak.
Give us your heart so we may love.
Give us your wisdom so we may understand.
Give us your mercy so we may forgive.
Give us your strength so we may persevere.
Give us your joy so we may dance!
Give us your righteousness so we may have peace.
Give us your grace so we may abound in every good work!

May the Lord give you all that you need today, in all things and at all
times to share joyfully with others! In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

THE LOVE OF GOD

We can talk an hour about it, but not have it.

No vessel can contain it all.

No tongue can explain it all.

It is only explained by living it, and retained by giving it.

When we share it, then we have more than we had;

Withhold it and we have less.

It has no competitors or equals.

Death cannot claim it, but only proclaim it.

Persecution only brings it to the surface.

It turns every experience into a privilege.

It works best under pressure.

It has no faults or failures.

It can turn every living sacrifice into a reasonable service. It has been
cradled in a manger, crucified on a cross, resurrected from a tomb, and
carried into heaven.
I admire it in others, I desire it from others, I require it for others,
but I can only acquire it from God.

GOD ANSWERS PRAYER

I know not by what methods rare,
But this I know - God answers prayer,
I know not when He sends the word
That tells us fervent prayer is heard.
I know it cometh -- soon or late:
Therefore we need to pray and wait.
I know not if the blessing sought
Will come in just the way I thought.
I leave my prayers with Him alone,
Whose will is wiser than my own.

Lord let me capture the pure spirit of a loving child when I speak Your
name.
Let me pray as a child prays, asking little for myself,
much for other souls and for Your beautiful world.
Protect me, sleeping and waking, from evil.
Lead me by the hand to good works.
Let me praise You in simple words and in glorious silence through all
the days and the nights of my life.
Amen.

The Be-Attitudes

Be understanding to your perceived enemies.

Be loyal to your friends.

Be strong enough to face the world each day.

Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone.

Be generous to those who need your help.

Be frugal with that you need yourself.

Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.

Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.

Be willing to share your joys.

Be willing to share the sorrows of others.

Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.

Be a follower when you are shrouded by the mists of uncertainty.

Be first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.

Be last to criticize a colleague who fails.

Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not tumble.

Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.

Be loving to those who love you.

Be loving to those who do not love you; they may change.

Above all, be yourself.

ACCEPT ME

Accept me as I am,
I have no guarantee.
A claim to perfection I have not.
Perfect I cannot be.

I, like you, am human.
Prone to make mistakes.
Failure is not a character flaw,
just a part of the human makeup.

I live, I laugh and I also learn.
My knowledge is incomplete.
I am searching all the time,
in waking hours as well as sleep.

I have a long road to travel,
as well as you do.
We learn our lessons on the way.
Wisdom we shall accrue.

So please accept me
as I am,
because I am just me.
No one like me in the world.
That is my only guarantee.

This is how I feel,
I have a heart, open it and see.
Please take care.
That's all I am, just me.

And he said unto me,
My grace is sufficient for thee:
for my strength is made perfect
in weakness.
Most gladly therefore
will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ
may rest upon me.
2 Cr 12:9

Sometimes asking someone for help
Is Not a sign of weakness
But yet a sign of STRENGTH

Is It Any Wonder

Is it any wonder that the world is filled with pain
when we set aside the beauty for our own material gain?

Is it any wonder that lovers' hearts grow dim
when we do not hold in honor the love we find within?

Is it any wonder that the homeless are weak and frail
when we put them out of house and home to seek another trail?

Is it any wonder that nature falls to ruin and rubble
because we take with no return allowing it to crumble?

Is it any wonder that children are lead astray
because we did not take the time to show the proper way?

Is it any wonder that evil is strong and bold
when we do not see goodness and let our hearts grow cold?

Is it any wonder racism flourishes, my friend,
when we do not see PEOPLE, but just the color of skin?

Is it any wonder that friendships die and fade
when we forget the reasons in which they were first made?

Is it any wonder our world is scarred and polluted
when we allow our industries to strip it as they're suited?

Is it any wonder there is such depression and sorrow
when we do not seem to care what will happen tomorrow?

Is it any wonder we do not see the values of our brothers
when we hold our own selves above the needs of others?

Is it any wonder our world is like it is
when we sit and grumble with actions we don't give?

Is it any wonder we wait in fear of Judgment Day
when we do the things we do, then forget to pray?

Holy Trinity Prayer
Dear Holy Trinity, united in perfect love
You are three conceived in one Being.
Oh, Holy Trinity, come down upon me
for I, Your poor miserable servant call upon You.

Oh Father, You are mighty
and have done great things for me.
I am Your servant.
Use me as You wish.
O, loving, caring, Jesus,
You have saved me from total damnation.
How shall I repay Thee?
Love, Peace and Joy?
Dearest Holy Spirit, without You I would be lost.
You give me the strength I need.
Holy Trinity, I submit myself to You.
Amen

Prayer to Our Lady of the Angels
You are fair, O Mary,
And the stain of original sin is not in you.
You are the glory of Jerusalem;
You are the joy of Israel;
You are the honor of our people;
You are the advocate of sinners, O Mary

Our Lady of the Angels,
Virgin most prudent,
Mother Most loving,
Pray for us,
Intercede for us with Jesus Christ our Lord.
(mention your request)

AMEN.
