Our time here is short and there is still so much to be done. Lord, please
let me do a little more for You today so that the world may be a little
better because of me.

Scripture for the day:

"Teach me to do your will, for you are my God. Let your good spirit
lead me on a level path. For your name's sake, O LORD, preserve my
life. In your righteousness bring me out of trouble. In your
steadfast love cut off my enemies, and destroy all my adversaries,
for I am your servant." ~Psalm 143:10-12

Meditation for the day:

When we are honestly trying to live the way we believe Gods wants
us to live, we can get guidance from God in times of quiet
communion. We can direct our thoughts toward God's will and all
good thing. The attitude of "Your will be done" leads to clear
guidance. We can act on this guidance and we can be led to better
things. Our impulses can seem to become less our own and more the
leading of God's spirit acting through our thoughts. Obeyed, they
can bring us the answers to our prayers.

Prayer for the day:

I pray that I may try to think God's thoughts after God. I pray
that my thoughts maybe guided by God's thoughts.

Hello my friends! What a day! I spent quite a bit of time today in
preparing for the quiches - have broccoli and cauliflower ground up in the
food processor - had to make that one for supper to see what I should add or
not. People are discussing it, and I'll disappear!! Then I got my beans
cut up - fridge now, as Lori picked me up to get our dresses, maybe they
won't get frozen until after the Wedding. My blessings besides my sisters
and my family - you all are my friends and, don't forget that! I'm too
tired to think, have a wonderful Friday!! Praying for you all - thanks for
your prayers for me!

God's Faithfulness

One thing nice about God, the more you think of Him the more closer He stays
besides you. If you forget Him, He follows behind you and if you fall, He
will carry you.

God hides from us the things that we are not yet ready to receive. That is
why when we try to get it ourselves, we end up with the 2nd best. Just pray
and wait.

* * * * * * * *

When we get hurt, it is one way God is telling us that not all that's
painful is bad or wrong. We get hurt so we'd never hurt others the way we
were hurt.

There's A Reason

I was always taught, there's a reason
That people do the things they do,
Though you may not always like them.
Their heart hides a secret from you.

If they're quick to bite your head off
Or constantly brag and boast,
Remember, the people we like the least
May need our love the most.

Could it be they had been abused
Or even ridiculed all their lives?
These are the type of hurtful things
That make sure their heart survives.

But, the heart that survives is hardened
And, on the seas of life, they coast.
Remember, the people we like the least
May need our love the most.

A Gift That Anyone Can Give . . . A Smile

It costs nothing, but saves much.

It enriches those who receive, without impoverishing those who give.

It happens in a flash, and the memory of it sometimes lasts forever.

None is so rich that he can get along without it; none so poor that he is
not enriched by it.

It creates happiness in the home, fosters goodwill in business, and is the
countersign of friends.

It is rest to the weary, daylight to the discouraged, sunshine to the sick,
and Nature's best antidote for trouble.

It cannot be bought, borrowed, or stolen, for it is no earthly good to
anyone until it is given away.

If you meet someone too burdened with grief or worry to smile, just give him
one of yours.

For nobody needs a smile so much as he who has none left to give.

God Can Do It

What we can accomplish on our own is hardly noteworthy.
But with the hand of the Master, our life's work truly can be beautiful.

God Can Do It

A mother once took her young son, who was just beginning to learn to play
the piano, to hear the world-famous Polish pianist Jan Paderewski in
concert. After an usher had shown them their seats, the mother spotted a
friend in the audience and walked down the aisle to greet her. The little
boy saw that as his opportunity to explore the wonders of the concert hall,
and eventually explored his way through a door marked “NO ADMITTANCE.” When
the house lights dimmed and the concert was about to begin, the mother
returned to her seat and discovered that her son was missing.

Suddenly, the curtains parted and spotlights focused on the impressive grand
piano on stage. In horror, the mother saw her little boy sitting at the
keyboard, innocently picking out “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star.” At that
moment, Paderewski made his entrance, quickly moved to the piano, and
whispered in the boy's ear, “Don't stop. Keep playing.”

Then Paderewski leaned over, reached down with his left hand and began
filling in a bass part. Soon his right arm reached around to the other side
of the child and added a third part. Together, the old master and the young
novice transformed a frightening situation into a wonderfully creative
experience. The audience was mesmerized.

That's the way it is with our heavenly Father. What we can accomplish on our
own is hardly noteworthy. We try our best, but the results aren't exactly
graceful, flowing music. But with the hand of the Master, our life's work
truly can be beautiful.

Next time you set out to accomplish great feats, listen carefully. You can
hear the voice of the Master, whispering in your ear, “Don't stop. Keep
playing.” Feel His loving arms around you. Know that His strong hands are
there, helping you turn your feeble attempts into true masterpieces. As long
as you're trying your best to do what He knows is best, He'll always be
there to love and guide you on to great things.

Daily Prayer

My dear Jesus,
too much have you done to oblige me to love you;
too great is the price you have paid to win my love.
Altogether too ungrateful would I be now,
if I loved you only a little,
or if I divided my heart between you and created things.
You have given me your blood and your life.
I want to detach myself from everything and to fix my affections on you
alone.
Of myself I am too weak to put this desire into act.
You have given me the desire; now give me the strength to fulfill it.

O Mary, my Mother, grant that from this day forward I may want nothing else
but God alone.
