Re: Fresh Express Salad Mix Recall

I have never bought bagged salad mixes, and have no intentions to start, after stories like this.   I never order salad out because most restaurants use these bag mixes.

It is rather hard to swallow. Smiley Wink

But seriously, we decided a few months ago to buy heads of lettuce, usually organic, instead of the bagged kind, although we will still by baby spinach or arugula in bags. I bought a salad spinner (again) and use that.

Re: Fresh Express Salad Mix Recall

I do buy lettuces/mixed greens in the container and will continue to do so.

I just don't like the look of the shelves or the crushed ice that whole produce is put on.

I don't know if the brocolli crowns hit the floor and put back up, or the head of red leaf lettuce was laid in someone's dirty cart and they changed their minds.

So as with everything, I'll take my chances with the boxed.  If I get a bat--I'll post a pic.

You know what I first thought when I read the story, even before they released the info that it was a bat? That it was a prank or a hoax pulled by some jerk. I'm still open to that option, especially since you'd expect rodent bits in food, not a bat.

I agree with you @noodleann .  Like finger in the Wendy's chili.

I missed that, and I can't say I'm sorry. Wendy's has great chili. Wouldn't want anything to impair my enjoyment of that styrofoam bowl full of goodness.

Fresh Express has lots of recalls. I don't buy their stuff.

I wonder if the bat was organic.  ðŸ™ƒ

Well, it looks like he was trying to eat clean and healthy, but he had a heart attack anyway and died right in his salad.

RIP
