Never knew this lady ,was  the one that worked so hard to give all americans ,social security, watching pbs. 

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.

Frances Perkins was a great lady.  Served through multiple Presidential terms as a Cabinet member and was the first woman Cabinet member.

 

The U.S. Labor Dept. headquarters building at the foot of Capitol Hill in Wash DC has her name in large black letters over the front entrance.

 

.  It is my former workplace,, having first been located across the street from the Washington Monument.  I was privileged to do some of the writiing of various commemorative speeches and publications when the new building was built and dedicated in Secretary Perkins' name.
