For those of you that work..

How do you find time to post?   I'm retired and can't seem to find enough time in a day to do a lot of posting.

I don't do "a lot of posting", but check in most evenings or on weekends.

We all have to have some downtime and I'm usually multi tasking, with the tv on, maybe some laundry in the washer.

I'm retired, but I have found through the years that we find time for what we want to do. I would have people ask me " when do you have time to read ?"  I always said you find time for what you love.

Re: For those of you that work..

I don't post often on this forum, but can share some ideas that may expand your view of how diverse days can be for people...

possible things to consider

  • some people dont have kids and/or pets
  • some people dont work 40 hrs
  • some people have minimal hobbies
  • some people hobby includes being social online
  • some front load or end load their days- so they have a busy morning and then can relax in evenings or vice versa
  • some have "automated" time-consuming chores/errands: banking online, bills are paid auto, groceries are deliverd, meal services cut down cooking, mail/packages are door to door so no need to go to post office, etc.
  • different sleep needs, anywhere from 5 hrs- 9 hrs is typical for adults
  • and of course priorities are different for everyone- so what might seem a low-priority to you might be for some important. there is value in a community, online or in person.

Re: For those of you that work..

Typically in the evening when I'm sitting on the couch relaxing and on weekends when I'm not doing much.  I keep telling myself to walk away & make better use of my day, but sometimes I don't listen to myself.

@Junebug54

Sounds to me like you haven't been retired long enough. I retired in '91.

Re: For those of you that work..

I was a workaholic in my younger days, and did not have enough time to do a lot of fun or simple things.

For the first ten or fifteen years I shopped on QVC, I never wrote any reviews or ever checked out these forums.

Now I only work part-time, so at night when I am relaxing, it is fun to go to different forums and see what is the news of the day.  I really started reading here just to learn more about QVC, but I see that a lot of people use this QVC forum as a communication outlet about their lives, so it serves an important purpose for many.

I like to read forums about things that are fun entertainment for me, and shopping is definitely in that category!

Re: For those of you that work..

@Junebug54  - I work full time from home and love my job.  I am able to relax at nights and most weekends.  During my off time, I'm able to read and post on the forums.
