For McCartney Fans - Ever Present Past

[ Edited ]

Check out the official video for Sir Paul's song Ever Present Past.The song is good (OK, it's not Yesterday but it's good) and Sir Paul at 78 yrs old is just amazing in this video. What energy this guy has! I could do without the dyed hair but I'm so glad he's still with us who cares about that? I enjoyed this video and seeing how great he is, still performing. ❤

Sorry I can't post links to the video from my phone.

I recently got on a MACCA mailing list and "he" emailed me the video today.

EDITING TO ADD: I did not realize this is an older video from 2007 since I just received it today. So Paul was not 78 in the video.  See posts below from @SusieQ_2 .

@Pearlee

Loved it!

Sure would have enjoyed being one of the luvlies dancing with him.

And, I think he was supposed to look like a young kid in the video, hence the brown hair...sneakers.  Everything kind of sepia toned?

In any event, I thought it was snappy and fun...and meaningful.

He's still handsome and trim and will be sweet Paul until the end of time.

Thanks for posting!

Re: For McCartney Fans - Ever Present Past

@Pearlee

Is this the video from the 2007 "Memory Almost Full" album or a remake?

I've been listening off and on to the new "McCartney III" that came out a week after Taylor Swift's "evermore" album. Paul did everything on that one himself during quarantine--wrote, produced, and played every instrument. Now that things have slowed down a bit I hope to go through it from start to finish.

I thought it was sweet the way Taylor and Paul staggered their dates intentionally so as not to step on each other's new release. Paul talked about it during his Howard Stern interview ending with ~

"So I mean, you know, people do keep out of each other’s way. It’s a nice thing to do.”

They did an extensive interview (in October) for the cover story of the "Musicians on Musicians" issue for Rolling Stone that came out earlier this month. It's a such a great read for fans of one, or both, of these artists (like me!). Such good stuff! Heart

Oh yeah, he's still got it! Smiley Happy

 @Pearlee   It's wonderful!! As You know I had the privilege of meeting Sir Paul & Linda when I was 19.I got his autograph & spoke to him for a bit. Not only is he extremely handsome but humble & very kind.

  It saddens me that our rock legends are aging out with no one to replace them on the horizon.

Re: For McCartney Fans - Ever Present Past

@SusieQ_2  Sorry I can't answer your question but he does look his current age in the video ( having just seen him on Fallon).. I didn't know there was a video of that song from 2007 so maybe this one is it (I don't have the album you mentioned and never heard this song before).

@NicksmomESQ. I kinda hate when you mention that story of meeting him because it makes me so envious! 🤢😄

@SusieQ_2  About those release dates, MACCA

publicly congratulated Swift on the success of her album after it was released (he's a class act). Also, cant remember where I heard him talking about this --probably with Fallon-- but one artist released an album same day as Paul's; he disregarded the courtesy. Can't now remember who it was.

Paul is a legend in music and entertainment.  His impact on the musical world all these decades will go on and on.  As excellent a musician he is, so is he a humble, caring person who has done much for others.  Love Paul McCartney!!!!!

Re: For McCartney Fans - Ever Present Past

I looked around to see if I was missing what might be a remake of the video but then noticed @Witchy Woman 's comment about the lovely girls and the sneakers and realized this is the same one from at least a decade or more ago. There's no criticism from me on that at all. I love watching music videos both old and new and this one was definitely worth rewatching. I hope I'm still watching it another 10 years from now!

My main interest was whether there a new one out which I though would be odd since he just released McCartney III. But like Pearley says...he still looks the same. I mostly agree but there's also a video about the making of the video "Ever Past Present" and he does look younger in it. Even so, he still looks good!

Paul is very kind to Taylor. He talked in the interview about how they both would have been playing at the Glastonbury Festival earlier this year if it hadn't been for covid. He said he would have liked to invite her on stage to play together. We did get to see them on stage together on the SNL anniversary show but there were other people up there as well. I'd love to see them together--just the two of them.

Fun fact (not sure how fun it is, lol) but Paul's daughter Stella is a close friend of Taylor's which is probably one of the reasons they (P & T) get along so well. Stella collaborated on making merch for the "Lover" album and was included in the lyrics from the song "London Boy."

@SusieQ_2  Thanks so much for letting me know. I have no idea why his site sent that video out today; I assumed it was from his new album.  Hmmmm I do like that song, maybe should look into that CD.  Anyway, maybe I was giving him too much credit for being so peppy at age 78 since he wasn't 78 when he made that video. And no wonder his hair was a different color!

I'll go edit my OP so it isn't misleading. Glad you brought this to my attention.
