I remember when I was in my teens and 20's when someone in their 60's passed away I'd think "that's a good long life". What an idiot. I just turned 70 and in my mind I'm about 30. I hate that people my age are thought so expendable.  I have a few health conditions but all and all I feel pretty good and productive.

I'm 76 and in excellent health for my age (no conditions, no replacements, even have all my teeth).  There are now 3 adults and two kids in my household and I am frequently the one who runs errands (bank, post office, grocery).  My son decided to start daily temperature checks on us (he is a bit obsessive/compulsive).

Every year on my birthday, I look into the mirror and say, "so this is what XX age looks like on me, and I made this far, so far.

They are finally including the younger set in the at-risk population...they are the ones spreading virus. Every senior I know is going overboard and staying home, washing everything they touch, and cleaning their hands constantly. Sure can’t fault older people.

When I got to 70, I got depressed. Glad to be alive and healthy, just would love to be 70 again.

First, I was born with some kind of time glitch.  Seriously I used to miss school deadlines, and say "was that today?".... something in a couple of weeks was way in the future in my mind. Then one day my Mom brought in a bulletin board and a wall calendar and showed me that I needed to write everything down.  I still do that to this day, if I see what's coming up in relation to the month then I'm ok.....

So all my life I never paid attention to my age or time unless I wrote it down.  When 30 was the enemy (back in the day), I never noticed it.  40's came, I lost my both my parents and time stood still.  I hesitated at 50, but off I went, enjoyed every minute.  I stopped to think about my 60's, had a serious fall, nearly died.  It changed my perspective a little but I was (and am) so grateful to be here that I've adjusted.  I'm now 69 and will be 70 this year.  Whoa.  This one has stopped me cold.  So has time caught up with me, finally?  Boy, I sure hope not.... I still have my calendar to contend with.... Woman LOLWoman Wink
