Sad isn't it?
Have you seen the teeny, tiny little cups of ice cream in the freezer section? Maybe 99 cents or $1? Being given just one of those would be enough to tick me off no end!! They're toddler size.
I think they use to serve those in school . . . with the little flat wooden "spoon" scoop. ![]()

I bought two little pints of Gelato for husband and son this week at Publix on a whim . . . it was on sale . . . and while I'm sure it didn't taste as good as the stuff we bought in Italy although I didn't try a single bite . . . my husband must have liked it cuz the first night he ate half the container and the next night the rest. I don't think son even knows its in there and I'd have to check but I bet that second pint is missing now.
Which is why I try not buying stuff like that as I don't want it, husband shouldn't eat it . . . but I hate to deprive son, after all he is still a growing boy of 16.

Oh, I like those single serving ones. If you use the little spoon attached, or have a tiny spoon of your own (I use mine), it's a great serving size.

""It's about time.""
I thought the same thing kdgn....I wonder if it will shock some people.

I didn't read your link, esmeraldagooch....but I would think it wouldn't be too hard to figure out the actual serving sizes of things.
Besides.....redesigning the labels.......repackaging, etc. also create jobs.

Some of the serving sizes do amount to a hill of beans. On a bag of low sodium potato chips it says one serving size is 15 chips.
Since when do chips in a bag come in a uniform size? Do two smaller chips equal one larger chip? It is a valid question when someone is on a very restricted sodium intake. I'm not talking about the uniform chips found in the can. Those are completely uniform in size.

You are thinking to simply for this new sweeping regulation. Every item in the bakery, deli or coffee shop in your store in every possible combination has to be tested and a nutritional sign for the consumer posted on the product. If they change from one type of mayo to another with a slightly different combination of ingredients the item has to be tested again.

Since they'll have a few years for the changes to begin they should have plenty of time to do a bit of simple math.

Esme - So it's some kind of an anti-capitalist plot to inform people about what they are eating????
If everyone stopped an REALLY read the calorie counts...and ate healthier options, our overall health would be much better...a GOOD thing!
