I think the original list needs work.

I was born and raised in Florida and have lived here all my life......only ONE item on that list works for me.

Apparently New Englanders/New Yorkers think they are smarter than Southerners.  You know what we say down here in ignorant Florida. . . "Happiness is a New Yorker headed North with a New Englander under each arm."  I can assure you they won't be missed.

Long strange history with Florida.   Memories

My parents brought me for a vacation.  I got sunburned very badly.

Got married hubby wanted to honeymoon in Florida.  I was bitten by a bug and ended up in the hospital.

My mother moved to Florida and was taken advantage of by her housekeeper, cleaning her out literally.

Otherwise it is too flat, too hot, too many bugs.  I have no intentions of ever making it my home.

You'd be pretty darn hard pressed to find people in less of a hurry than in Fl.

Back in the '70s the lovebigs were the worst. They sold screens to put over the front of your car to try and keep them off your car's grill. Major pain to get off; you can't just run through the car wash or hose them off. Sounds like they aren't as bad now so that is good to hear.
