One time during a presentation, the host says "this is great for the flashlight afficianado!"

LOL.  It's one thing for for it to be practical gift and admit it, but 'flashlight afficianado'??

That would describe meand my SO!!  WE love flashlights and lanterns of any kind and as far as I'm concerned one can never have enough of them!!! I've given them as gifts and always got more than the fake smile look when someone opens a gift not very useful to them!!  It's something everyone can use and kids love to get them!  A way better gift than a mug with cheap candy, a scarf, an ornament, smelly candle, bath gel, etc.  Bring on more flashlights!!  You can make fun of me for this but when anyone needs a flashlight guess who they come to and often walk off with mine??!!!  Years later many still thank me and use this gift.

My husband adores flashlights..he has more of them than I have shoes. He is always looking for the most powerful one and has been seen standing in a crowd of men at Costco admiring the newest biggest and brightest that the season has to offer...QVC is right on with this, the MAN gift.

The flashlight that my Mom gave my husband for his birthday came from QVC and he simply LOVES it. Whatever floats your boat!

The first time I ordered a set of the QVC flashlights, even I thought I was a bit crazy.  I'm one person and there's a good light on my terrace and the parking lot if close and (I thought) well lighted.

Besides, I already has flashlights in every room, practically every drawer because I'd just gone through 5 hurricanes!

So - I took most of those mini light with me when I went back to Long Island in the spring.  There I have terrible outdoor lighting even though my landlord improved it when I complained, it's still bad and there's little likelihood it will ever be better.

My friends have learned to carry flashlights, most of them picked up on the way out my door.  I always want a stash on hand although now the basic ones are easy to find and I've turned to the magnet light, not really for Christmas gifts, but because they are so useful.

I'm sure I could buy sweaters or ties or socks or cookies - but, quite frankly, those things are no better than flashlights --and even more ubitquitous.  Besides, I now need a flashlight every day if I want my mail that now arrives after dark, so I can gift myself!

But not all of us can use a generator.  I can't - but  I can use a flashlight all by my lonesome.

Seems those flashlights with the extension and magnets that come in fancy colors by Halo are a big hit here this year and I am again running out of them due to requests for MORE! LOL Ok so I guess I am officially this Years Flashlight Santa Officianado!!  So far (cross my fingers) I have received well working ones. WOW who would have thunk they would be so popular? LOL now I know what to buy!

Are you kidding?   It's the perfect all purpose gift for a guy .... no size needed and you can be sure he'll use it.   Who doesn't need another flashlight?

I find it odd that they flashlight us to death every Christmas, but seldom offer umbrellas.  It's hard to find a good umbrella.
