Yesterday (when the temperature was 89 degrees) I received my order of salmon which was left at my door by UPS.  I picked up the container and  it felt heavier than other times. When I opened the styrofoam container, imagine my surprise to find a complete block of dry ice (5.5 lbs according to the enclosed slip).  It was almost as if it had been packaged just a short time earlier.

Never have I received a perishable food item with a full block of ice.  I hope this is not the first and only time this happens!

I got an order of salmon 2 weeks ago when it was over 95°.  The dry ice was completely melted but the fish was still frozen solid in the well-insulated box.

@Katrinka23 Kudos should be sent to the vendor specifically, so they know you appreciate their efforts.

I received David's Cookies on 9/3 and they were completely defrosted. The temperature was 97 with humidity at 103.  The dry ice pack was warm. I had to toss but they sent a replacement and it arrived today. It was still frozen.

I have in the past gotten some items that had to be tossed because of the heat.  If I go auto delivery I do skip the hotter months.

The Q always makes it right but I hate messing around with it.

I push my AD frozen foods usually out of July and August.  I had one Family farms order once received warm. It was not July or August, but got stuck over a weekend in a UPs warehouse.  They immediately replaced it.

Right now I only have Faroe island salmon and Corkys wings on AD.  Next shipment is October.

We have had over 40 days of 100 degree weather in the DFW area this summer. I have received several food shipments during this time. All have arrived with the food still frozen solid (I am always home to receive them at the time of delivery). Usually the dry ice has been completely gone, but one actually had a few small chips intact.

However, it is good to know that QVC will make things right if food arrives compromised.
