Re: First Day of Autumn/Fall

Hi @Puzzle Piece

Wanted you to know my earlier reference was not about you, but it all disappeared when I posted that.

We are in the middle of a yo-yo heatwave here.  SF is supposed to get up to at least 90 this weekend, other hot days sprinkled in between.

I'm looking forward to fall cooking instead.

I understnd Noel.  Yes, we will have warm temps her too - triple digit.  I like the offerings for Fall/Autumn in the various dishes made for the season.  Sorry your thread got removed.  I was banned for a couple of hours for mentioning the M word.  I was sent off to see the wizard.

I actually made a pasta with pumpkin sauce recipe that I found on Facebook, it was pretty good.

Fry 2 sprigs of fresh rosemary in 2 tbs. olive oil till they start to brown. Remove them from oil and drain on paper towel.  Cook 12 oz. penne pasta till al dente ( I used whole wheat ). Be sure and salt the water well !!  Before you drain pasta, save 2 cups of cooking water. Add a 15 oz. can of pumpkin to oil left in pan. Then add 1/2 cup of half and half, 1/3 cup of grated Parmesan., 1 cup of the pasta cooking water, 2 cloves of grated garlic, 1 tbs. white vinegar, and 1/4 teaspoon. Red pepper flakes. Salt to taste, add more cooking water if needed. Serve with drained Rosemary crumbled on top.   Now this is just me, but I added cumin, because I love it in any squash. If you make it I hope you enjoy !!

Re: First Day of Autumn/Fall

To be completely honest, I am totally stoked about being able to drag out and dust off the slow cooker once the temp drops and doesn't bounce back to hot weather.

Soups and stews, yum!

Nope, I don't do anything special to welcome fall or winter.

@sgraham30That's okay.

@Pandalady It is very warm here and triple digits are on for the weekend.  I like the hay bales, pumpkins, sunflowers, fabric fall leaves.  Always so pretty.

It was a little cool today.  Looks like it will stay 70ish.  My kind of weather.  Welcome fall.
