DH and I are actually planning on riding the motorcycle down to the boat dock tonight and hanging out with friends.

I know.  Here in L.A. we have an overcast of light clouds and it's still in the high 80's.  I can catch the spirit though with one or two efforts/activities.  I like to see the pretty and various colors of pumpkins at the stores that carry them.

Re: First Day of Autumn/Fall

I don't celebrate the first day of Fall; I just deal with my sadness that another WV summer is behind me.   Fall here essentially means the last week of September and October.   After Halloween, we start getting dark early, go from heavy frosts to snow flurries, and that's the way it stays until April.

Re: First Day of Autumn/Fall

It is 63 degrees at 2 PM.  Rain and cooler temps predicted for tomorrow.  I am going to make some chicken stock this week end to get ready for soup making.

Re: First Day of Autumn/Fall

I would take rain or cooler temps down here.  My part of the South is still 90 on a daily basis and in a drought.  Smiley Sad

No Fall here either.  It's 85 degrees and I love it.  The only good thing about summer ending will be when we can turn off the air conditioner.
