Just heard there's been a large fire at the Flight 93 site in Shanksville, PA. It hasn't affected the memorial but seems it has completely destroyed the Visitors Center. Very sad since much of the money has been donated by families of those who were on the flight. Just 3 weeks ago they had their memorial service. The site is about 1/2 hour drive from me.

This is terrible. I heard that many irreplaceable objects were burnt, including the American flag that flew over the US capital on 9/11/01.

Also destroyed were several personal objects belonging to the passengers on Flight 93. They have not yet determined what caused the fire.

Like there hasn't been enough tragedy, right?

I hadn't heard this until this thread. All the nonsense and non-news is on about the local foolishness in the Los Angeles area but not this story. Sad comment on those who report and are responsible for what people hear and are exposed to. Glad to know the memorial wasn't damaged or destroyed.
