šŸ”„ Fire Again In HoustonšŸ”„

The chemical plant outside of Houston has now re-ignited.

This was the very same plant that dumped toxic waste in that area during Hurricane Harvey.

Unbelievable!

@LTT1

I thought I heard the major of Houston say air quality

is OK...and that was yesterday. And they still have yet to

find a cause to the fire. Shame that they’re back to square one.

The pictures on the news look terrible. I wouldn't want to be near that place with that dreadful looking black smoke. Looks like it could be toxic to breathe that stuff...yuck!

When i first moved to Houston in 1965, I applied for a job at Shell Oil there in Deer Park.  Thankfully, I didn't get the job.  That area along the Houston Ship Channel is the pits.  It stinks on a good day.  EPA regs have gotten more lax and now it must be a mess.  Houston didn't have a pollution problem back then.

You have to know how dangerous that air is with tens/hundreds of thousands of gallons of solvents being burned.  I don't believe the residents are getting the truth.  This is exactly why these kinks of plants should never be in metropolitan areas.

The particles are in the air.  I worry about the long term effects 20 years down the road.  When the WTC came down in NYC, people were told the air quality was safe.  It wasn't.

Re: šŸ”„ Fire Again In HoustonšŸ”„

When the fire started, residents of the area were told they did not need to evacuate....now that it has reignited, they are telling residents to shelter in place.....the whole area has been toxic for years...and some heads should roll for no evacuation orders at the first hint of toxic smoke.
