The Tradewinds is a bar and it gets kind of rough in there. Locals know it as a tough type of bar. It is popular during Bike Week. Salt Water Cowboys is casual, I forgot to mention Creekside Dinery (same owners as Cowboys), again casual. Salt Life is new and very casual. The last time I was there we ate up on the top deck where you can see the ocean. Like I said, St. Augustine is mostly casual fair but there are a lot of good local places.

Never been during bike week, but have been many times with my cousins who live there and we had a lot of fun! And they are nice schoolteacher types, in their 50s....there were bikes outside but the bouncers have things under control - at least the times we went! Right on the main drag of Old Town, seems very touristy there.

This thread makes me long for St. Augustine and its beautiful beaches. Just one of the nicest places to vacation!

I agree! And if anyone cares to know, the best freshly-baked bread in St. Augustine can be found at the Spanish Bakery!

There is nothing wrong with Bikers and we actually enjoy Bike Week and Biketoberfest around here but the poster is looking for "Fine Dining" the Tradewinds is a Bar. Trust me, I have been here for 33 years and the Tradewinds has been here all of that time, it is a Bar and not a place for someone to purchase a gift certificate to.

LOL, I agree! This thread got a little off-topic, I guess.

Thanks everyone! I went with a GC to Collage. Emailed them and got an immediate response. CC payment over the phone and they are sending the GC and a menu so I can put it in a card for my friend. These boards are wonderful! You are all a wealth of information! Thanks again!

We vacation down in Palm Coast every year. We travel up to St. A and down to Daytona. Lots and lots of bikes everywhere. Have never, ever had a problem during Bike Week or any other time. Bikers are very respectful.

We love the Golden Lion in Flagler. I know it's nothing fancy, but we love their fresh seafood and the fun atmosphere.

I know it is funny isn't it how we can go on and on sometimes. If her friend received a gift certificate to the Trade Winds she may never speak to her again. One has to be in the right frame of mind to go there but it has it's place. Some of my friends over the years, have played in the bands there. I do love living in St. Augustine.

Collage is an excellent choice and it is right in the Heart of the Historic District.

When in St Aug. a few years ago, we discovered Raintree by accident. Loved, loved it. Great food, beautiful place, highly recommend.
