I've checked in from time to time to see if it's still going...and it was, so I didn't watch much. Since QVC does some really nutty things, I'm guessing that when the calendar moves to August, they'll have back-to-school and autum "fashions" (if they can be called tha).
Somehow I just can't see myself buying wool sweaters, etc., in August.
To the people who are going to chastize me for not knowing that the Q starts selling a month or two ahead of time---I already know it. I just don't like it. (And QVC isn't the only offender.)
One more day and we won't have these whiney posts about CIJ which Q does every year.

The only thing I can't comprehend is why you waste time "not liking it", when it's just a thing that's been going on probably since there's been retail, and will continue until time is no more!

Then why do you do the same thing?

Why so argumentative? Really! Maybe these forums aren't for you just like CIJ isn't.

We're facing our 50th day of over 100 degree temps. It has been miserable. CIJ is like a cool breeze mentally for me.
It reminds me that, although a long hot spell, this is temporary and fall/winter will come, along with my favorite holidays. So, I like a CIJ escape and there are many more who feel the same.
Being in a hot climate, I don't complain when they sell heavy coats, sweaters, snow boots, snow blowing machines, ice scrapers, and windshield covers, just because I'm not interested and don't need them. I'm respectful that others want and need these items. There's always something else to watch.

You should come up with a new nic. This one doesn't fit your posting style.

So many people complaining about what they don't like here.
My question for you all is...what would you like QVC to showcase?
Specific brands and products.

When I was a Buyer and Product Developer in my first career, the early offerings of fall apparel and Christmas merchandise weren't based merely on when the retailers wanted to stock & sell those items, but rather it was based on when vendors wanted to ship retailers seasonal merchandise.
Vendors created programs long ago (I started as a Buyer in the 1980's) that included December 10th billing for merchandise that was accepted in July, extra 15-25% discounts, free shipping from the vendor, etc. The retailers would then have the opportunity for extra turnovers of their inventory and have time for reorders. It only made sense for retailers to agree to vendors' promotions and accept the inventory before the actual season. A large % of retailers' income comes during the holiday season/4th quarter.
There were some holiday items that I'd start planning for & purchasing in January as a Buyer (while I was purchasing merchandise for other seasons), but I purchased the majority of vendor-stocked holiday merchandise in June. When I was buying for the same retailers' catalogs, I purchased 1-2 months earlier. And when I was developing products, that process started much earlier in order to have acceptable prototypes/samples, manufacturing, shipping, etc. Valentine-themed merchandise was delivered by vendors before Christmas was ready to disappear.
Vendors compete for retailers' dollars.
I think it gave the manufacturer, the manufacture's rep, & the retailer an opportunity to get some sort of handle on how large sales might be and what merchandise might sell best.
My 2nd career was completely different, so Idk whether it's similar these days or not.

Tell me how to do it When the board was down for 2 weeks and I was able to post again, QV had changed my nic and I don't know how to change back. So if someone will tell me how to do it, I will.
