I agree with you chicken.  However, my guess is they weren't taken that much (as far as people sending things back long overdue, etc).  They are a company and they wouldn't allow that to happen.

Their gimick is also all sizes the same amount.  When you do that (like in life) some have to 'eat' some of the cost of the, say, dresses that require more material (larger sizes, etc), the bracelets that take more material (metal) from a size 6 1/2 to a size 8.  I wear a size 8 and if I wanted it I'd be willing to pay more, I understand that it's more material, etc.

This extra $3 charge was just so stupid.  I own (through my late husband) several companies.  I do know how things go.  I also know that you must be fair to your customers and try to keep them relatively happy.

I do not get "it"...EVERY DRESS SIZE IS 1 inch larger than the size before,  should they charge a certian price more for EACH SIZE?  OR are you just singling out plus sizes?   Because the difference from a lg to an xl is one inch  BUT from a 2 to a 4 is one inch also.  Just wondering because you brought up cost increases for different sizes on another thread.

Re: Finally Had it With QVC!

[ Edited ]

To my knowledge (and I've been shopping with QVC for over 20 years), they have never only charged one S&H fee, even if you ordered multiples of the same item in the same order.

The first item was the full S&H and any subsequent items were half off.

The new charges of generally $3 for each jewelry item come out to about the same thing, so I'm not sure how the OP thinks she has been overcharged by $3.

I'm not happy with QVC no longer refunding the original S&H so I've cut way down on what I order.  It's not that I don't think I'd like an item, but with the issues of inconsistent sizing in clothes and shoes, I'm not taking the chance of having to return and exchange and maybe having to repeat.

I have a piece of jewelry right now that needs to go back and I know I'm out nearly $10 just to look at it.  It seemed very different in person, than on the screen or online.  So I'll curtail my spending in that department, too.

It might be just as well for many "QVC Queens" to cut back anyway.  How much stuff do any of us need?  (That's the stage I'm at right now and the changes to the shipping charges have really helped!)

If you think QVC's shipping is bad, try Soft Surroundings.  If the shipping charge for 1 blouse is $9.95, the second is also $9.95. I was ordering 3 tops and the cost was slightly under $30.  I changed my mind quickly.

Plenty of companies have free shipping, just look around.

Yes, and MANY COMPANIES charge alot more for shipping.  I ship things to my MIL and shipping anything to  anyplace is pricey so I no longer qubble about charges, it comes down to how much I want something FROM ANYWHERE, not just the Q.  I have sent care packages to my step son in the navy where the shipping cost more than the package contents, but was worth it to give him something he needed.

Re: Finally Had it With QVC!

This has been QVC's new shipping policy for many months now.  If you order 1 thing, you are definitely saving money as most items on QVC were about $5.95 to ship.  If you order 2 of something, even paying the same s/h,  you are probably still paying the same as before.

Right now, HSN is the only shopping channel that still refunds original s/h on a return.  And if you use your HSN charge card, they will give you spendable cash on the return s/h if you use the prepaid label they provide.  So it is really beneficial to have an HSN card.  My guess is, it won't be much longer until they discontinue refunding the original s/h.

I don't think QVC will ever discontinue easy pay unless you have their card but it appears that they are offering easy pay on some items to only those with a Q card, which HSN also does.

I stopped buying from the Q years ago, I still continue to order from HSN and Evine, it seems for me that is where the good deals are found, not on the Q.

Re: Finally Had it With QVC!

I am sorry but the complaints ring hollow and are not justified in my opinion.

Firstt, the shipping policy changed in February.  All shoppers were notified via multiple e-mails, snail mai, notices on the website, and the issue was discussed at length on these boards.  For someone who orders so much, to be surprised at this point, seems a bit unbelievble.

This is not your first "done with QVC" notice.  You got upset with posters in the television forum and declared you were going to quite.  You then got upset at the changes in the website and forums and declardd you were leaving.  This just seems to be another one of those instances.

While I understand no one likes change, the fact is that the world moves on and things change.  QVC changed its shipping policies.  For most people, it actually ends up working better.

Re: Finally Had it With QVC!

I don't know where some of you shop, but most online stores charge much more than QVC for S/H,  and to get Free S/H you have to spend at least $100 or more!  People are never satisfied, they are always going to complain about something!  If it is something I really want and I don't have a store close by, I pay whatever the S/H is, if I don't want to pay it, I don't buy, how simple is that!Smiley Happy

Re: Finally Had it With QVC!

I don't purchase clothes, cosmetics or jewelry from QVC, or designer-ish handbags or shoes. So, I have little reason to return anything.

I recently returned a pair of Vionics that QVC would not permit me to cancel less than 10 min. after ordering. The shoe was not, IMO, well described so I wasn't sure of the design. I will now think twice and three times before I order Vionics again from QVC. I can order from their website and from places that have free shipping and free returns. That said, it was only the second time I've returned something in about 16 years of shopping here, so not something I deal with a lot ;-)

OTOH, I ordered a gift for someone a couple of weeks ago & paid $5 shipping, and ordered myself the Travelon 2-wallet set for $3 shipping, which I was quite happy about.

It really affects those who buy clothing the most I guess. And I understand the anger about having to return items because no two "same" garments fit the same.
