I was fortunate to have retired at a very early age, and I love the freedom.  I left a job where many older than me said they would probably never be able to retire.  Don't understand those who don't plan ahead for their future.  It's not rocket science.  Can't say I have ever been one to sit around, but it's fun to have choices instead of being pinned down with a regular job.

I will probably be one that won't be able to retire, and SS will run out. Many jobs these days don't offer pensions, high pay, long term employment, benefits, or full time work etc.... Be thankful that you have a choice.

Congratulations!  Now is the time to enjoy all of those things that you have been putting off.  It is also a time to try some new things.

While I had not planned to retire early but was forced to due to a serious work injury, I can honestly say that I am enjoying every minute of retirement.  It is so nice to be on my own schedule and I know that you will enjoy it also.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

Congrats!  Retirement is the best!  Two years ago I took a week's vacation, contacted Obamacare, signed up, went to Social Security, signed up.  When I went back to work, I gave my two weeks notice.  They were not happy, but I figure, if they were going to let me go, I wouldn't get any notice.  Starting next month, I'm starting back at the same job 8 hours a week just for some extra money.  Enjoy your retirement!

Woohoo!! Very exciting and well deserved. I retired at 51 with 30 years with the state of Texas. Stayed home a year. Remodeled home and sold it. Purchased a smaller home and yard. Moved in New Years Eve. And work part time. They recently lowered our hours to under 10 a week so I looked for another part time job. Got hired last Thursday and Tuesday is my last day with the first one. I'm excited. 20 hours a week and will get paid every Friday.  I live that I'm doing something totally different and meeting new people. Enjoy your retirement, turn on the radio and dance!!!

Congratulations! It's wonderful not having to get up at the crack of dawn and fighting traffic. I retired 4/30/15 and it's gone by fast!  Have fun!
