Federal Do Not Call Registry

I finally got fed up with all the telemarketing calls and put the land line number and my cell phone number on the Federal Do Not Call Registry. I did this the first week in January and you're told it will take up to 31 days to take effect.

It's not working. I swear I'm getting more calls on my cell than ever before and the home phone is still ringing.

I've been answering the home phone just for the pleasure of telling the caller they are in violation of the Registry. When a live person gets on the phone they definitely aren't getting what the Do Not Call Registry means.

The first man, when told I was on the Registry, said "No you're not!" and proceeded to argue with me before I hung up on him. I'd been registered for over 40 days.

The second man said they get their numbers from whitepages.com. Huh? Then he asked if wanted my ducts cleaned out.

Just now I got another clueless man who wanted to lower our electric rates. I told him we were on the list and his answer was "Because you're on the list means you don't want to lower your electric rates?" I told him no, that means he's not allowed to call this number. Moron.

Anyone else still getting telemarketers? I understand political/charity calls don't qualify, but I don't think wanting my vents cleaned or lowering my electric bill counts.....And that last guy got the name of our electric company wrong.
