One of my fav, is from the British mystery. Midsomer Murders. It is such an eerie, haunting theme song...totally foreboding!! brings you in on what sinister murders will happen, lol!! I believe it is played with a Zither? lol however, some catchy tunes, are from CSI the original, by the WHO, and the Big Bang Theory, by BareNaked Ladies. And who could not get an ear worm with the theme from Friends, and that 70's show.

but the 70's had more original works, that tell you what the show is about, and tells you about main character.

I think my favorite would have to be the theme from Endeavor by Barrington Pheloung played by the London Metropolitan Orchestra.

" Bad Boys"... oh my goodness, if I've heard that theme song one time I've heard it a million times. That one and M.A.S.H are ingrained in my brain. Two of my husband's most watched shows of all time. They are actually comforting at this point. I don't watch TV anymore but I think my all time favorite theme songs, that I can think of at this moment, would be High Chaparral and the original Star Trek. These theme songs bring back happy memories of still living at home and being with my family. Dad and I liked the same programming while Frank and Mom were usually in the kitchen cooking.
