I know that I probably could have put this is the Kitchen or Recipes forum, but I thought that I might get more responses here.

I got a Ninja Smoothie maker, and I want to start making smoothies.

I was wondering what are some of your favorite smoothie recipes?

It can be vegetable based or fruit based, I'm open to almost anything, except I hate cabbage and cilantro.

Any suggestions?

@Anonymous032819  I have never used a recipe.  I almost always use some ice or frozen fruit; plain yogurt; a little milk or almond milk; a squirt of flax oil; and a tiny bit of honey or maple syrup.

I can add any fruit I want, a little fruit juice, greens, carrots, or any veggies I have in the crisper.

Sometimes a pea protein powder or a dab of peanut butter.

Whatever I want and/or whatever is in the fridge and needs to be eaten.

A bit of almond milk, a couple of bananas, a cup of blueberries and cherries (frozen), a tbsp. of chia/fax/hemp (any or all), a couple of dates, a boatload of greens

whirl till smooth in blender

Yum!

My smoothies are always pretty much the same.  Banana or berries, almond milk, a few ice cubes.  Sometimes I will add fruit flavored yogurt.  If it needs sweetening, I will stir in some honey or a packet of stevia.  I don't measure...just eyeball it.

I do fruit smoothies in a regular blender.

1 red skinned apple, sliced and chopped

1/2 frozen banana

1 c frozen fruit - (Wyman's puts out some nice bags of mixed frozen fruit - wild blueberries, tropical fruit blend w/pineapple/mango/strawberries/coconut, and a mango/berry fruit blend which I think is my favorite) or frozen cherries are another favorite

1 T of honey and a good dash of cinamon

if I want to fatten it up a bit I add about 1/3c of coconut milk

blend until smooth - delicious

I do a green drink in my ninja if I'm feeling like I need a boost. I put 2 lacinato kale leaves, a few dandelion greens, 1/4 to 1/2 cucumber,  slice of fresh turmeric& ginger, lemon piece or juice and add coconut water to taste. I hate cilantro too so i will add fresh parsley and/or basil. Enjoy your ninja blending!

@DianeJ2   this sounds great!  A little hint...adding a few peppercorns to the smoothies will boost the efficacy and activate the curcumin in the turmeric (especially if you are looking for anti-inflamatory/pain relief).

I use fresh turmeric every morning.  I boil fresh ginger, 1/2 lemon, a date, cinnamon, a couple of peppercorns, and fresh turmeric.  I whirl it in the blender strain and enjoy!  Great way to start the day.

@Anonymous032819

I love this video.

Sergei Boutenko is the son of Victoria Boutenko,

who really popularized today's green smoothie movement.

This is a 30-day challenge...and he gives shopping lists so you

use exactly what you buy.  And he gives you instructions on
exactly how to make a creamy smoothie...not just throw everything in.

Every day has it's separate video. And his delivery is soft & calm.

HTH!

@phoenixbrd  Thank you I forgot to mention that! I always forget to use pepper as I'm not normally a fan. It doesn't like me either lol  Your morning drink sounds so good, I bet it smells amazing with the cinnamon  and dates. Going to try this tomorrow..
