Favorite Dog Breed

What's your favorite dog breed? Please indicate what you like about the breed in your response.

Growing up, we had a German Shepard and a Toy Fox Terrier. I loved them both, but I don't know if I would ever go the terrier route again. The German Shepard made me feel safe, and she was a loving & loyal pet. The terrier was more high strung and hand skin issues. Don't get me wrong, she was a sweetie, but I would think twice about getting another one.

Now we have a toy poodle. I went for about 20 years without a dog in my life because of my husband's allergies. Bringing my little poodle home was a big gamble, but it paid off because she doesn't trigger my husband's allergies or asthma. She is the SWEETEST little girl! She's smart and well behaved. I also like the fact that she is smaller--when she comes in with wet feet, I can just scoop her up and put her in the laundry basin for a clean-up. I think I may be a poodle girl for life!
