Re: Fall Season

[ Edited ]

Fall has always been my favorite season. Woman Happy

Love the cool-to-colder crisp temperatures (40s & 50s).and low humifity.

Love the vibrant blue sky and the reds/oranges/golds/greens of the leaves.

Love the larger variety of fabrics and footwear,

Love being able to use throws and blankets.

Love the heartier foods and being able to enjoy hot tea day and night.

There are so many wonderful things to like about Fall. There is a crispness in the air that smells like, well, it smells like Fall.

Fashion is at its best. Woolens with tweeds and herringbones, oversized fisherman knit sweaters, wool socks with lace up hiking boots.

The smell of someone having a recreational fire in their back yard so the kiddos can roast marshmallows.

Falling leaves in all their glory--red, yellow and orange.

Oh, and not having to have the air conditioning or the heat on.

Autumn is the season I miss most living as I do on the west coast.  While much of the rest of the country enjoys a respite from summer heat and the beginning of cool, crisp weather, we continue to swelter.  Granted, we don't really start summer until mid-July or later.  We never really have autumn.

@newjersey - There is a mum that does very well inside. I am trying to find the name of it but so far can't find it. I always find this mum at Fresh Market (nicer grocery store) inside every year. They are a little more expensive so it was few years before I finally bought some. I was so pleased. They did so great they seemed they had to be fake. When I find the name or they appear in the store, I will post the info. They are a striking mum.

I love the fall too, but here in California it really doesn't hit until the end of October. I like the idea that plants and animals are resting. I like the colors of fall, and we do have some beautiful fall trees in California, believe it or not.  I think Halloween is a fun holiday, and Thanksgiving is good too. Christmas is not my favorite. It's just too much.

What does fall evoke in me?

The start of hockey season!

Not coming home from the golf course drenched in sweat.

Beautiful fall colors as the leaves turn.

Not having to run either the A/C or the heat.

Fleeing south at the first hint of snow!

As someone who lives in the low desert, I cherish Autumn. It means coming out of hibernation for humans and animals alike. Getting to go outside and going for walks once again and having cooler morning and evening temperatures. There is always a crisp scent to the air that signals, at long last, the end of the miserable heat.

FALL IS THE BEST!! I, like others, love the university in my town getting ready for new/returning students, going by the coliseum and seeing the band practice. I especially love hearing the drum corps. Pulling out fall decor items (so much Valerie!), saying goodbye to hot days, and watching college football. Love all of fall!❤️

@newjersey I have never had mums inside but DH is the green thumb around here so I can't answer your question.  I guess you just have to give it a try!  I'm sure someone in a garden center could lead you in the right direction.   Let us know if you try it Smiley Happy
