We put out a scarecrow flag today. I'll get out the pumpkin candles and a few other things next week.

At this point in my life, a garden flag and colorful dish towels are the best I can do.
When my girls were small, as soon as the teachers decorated their classrooms for the season, the girls wanted to decorate here. It made them happy; I tolerated it.
Now I have a house full of the equipment and medical supplies it takes to care for my husband. The VA makes sure he has what he needs, and it's my job to find a spot for all of it. From oral meds to breathing meds, breathing machines, wound care supplies, oxygen tanks and a mobility scooter. My house is FULL, my brain no longer thinks too much about holiday decor.

I read your post with a heavy heart -- God Bless You and the wonderful care you are giving your dear spouse.
I'd give anything to not decorate to have my spouse back with me.
I know exactly what you mean with a house full of medical equipment although one thing my spouse loved is our home decorated for the seasons and holiday. (At times for me it was overwhelming but made him happy).
Now, I plan to Fall decorate outside and some inside but not until the temps cool off a bit here in FL.
I hope you have good evening.

I always decorate when the actual season has arrived. I'm not much for getting ahead of the calendar!!

I will start putting a few things out Tuesday afternoon. I have a lot, because fall decorating is one of my favorite things to do.
I am trying to stretch summer out though. It was busier than usual for me.
DH cleared off the mantel tonight and brought two of the recent Valerie TSV pumpkins in. I dusted and polished and he put them up.
Poor thing - I hope he knows they won't be the ONLY things up there! LOL! ![]()

I changed mine over on Friday. I did some outdoor decorating on Saturday, but I still need to put out a few pumpkin stakes.
My husband is a HUGE Halloween decorator (outdoors), so I don't do too much for fall outside because I know it will be short-lived. However, once the first weekend of November hits, the Halloween decor comes down and then it's all pumpkins and Turkeys until Thanksgiving.

Sometime in October. It lasts through Thanksgiving weekend.

When it's still in the 90s it's hard to get excited about fall. Our hottest month is August not July like a lot of you. It will still be in the 90s this week. No fall decorating for me until it's actually fall. The trees are still green the grass is still green and needing cut. No sign of autumn here.
