In order to comment on a page, you have to "like" that page so yes, some are liking hosts' pages just to leave mean and hateful comments.  That I don't understand.

I have read some very, very weird comments on hosts' pages.  Some from what appear to be guys who have a crush on the host or some type of odd fetish.  Others from women who just leave one mean, nasty comment after the other and then there are those who engage the nasties and the trolls and it turns into one big free for all.

I read a lot of stuff that I don't agree with on FB, especially now that the election is in full swing.  I will not get into an argument with anyone on FB.  I just ignore them.  I get really disgusted with some of my friends who make a grand political statement but start the entire rant telling everyone that if you don't agree with them, don't comment because this is their opinion, they are entitled to it and they don't care about opposing views.  I'm always to tempted to tell them not to post it if they don't want opposing views.

I've blocked a few friends who are also relatives, because I don't want to unfriend them and cause a family argument and I'm unfriended a few people who were just over the top about things and I didn't want to deal with them anymore.

I agree! Some of the comments to hosts and just celebs in general are just so horrendous. It is hard to believe that people can be so mean. I don't have a problem with people going on there to list a legit complaint (like about a product they sell, etc...) but some comments are so crazy and mean it is obvious they aren't all there. I can't imagine going on someones instagram, facebook or twitter to tell them they are ugly, look old, too fat or too skinny. People who are happy with their lives and secure don't leave comments like this. Only jealous and unhappy people who have nothing going for them do that.

Yes, arguing on FB about politics is an exercise in futility. Neither side changes the others opinions and they both look like fools after they're done.

I don't talk about politics at all on FB. I have a business and I don't want to alienate anyone because of that. I see people argue like one is actually better than the other. They're both nuts.

Also, NEVER, EVER "click on" those movie posts!

What do you mean movie posts? I am trying to think of what those are but am drawing a blank.

I am not friends nor have I liked any of the QVC hosts pages but I have gone on to a few and read the comments. There are some really strange people out there. You have those that are obsessed with the hosts and really cross the line asking crazy personal questions and then you have those that do not like the hosts and leave nasty and immature posts.  I don't understand why anyone would take the time to friend or "like" a persons FB page when they do not like them. When you dislike someone, yet make a concerted effort to keep up with their lives (following them on social media) you look like a jealous and envious little hater. It is just so stupid.

The QVC host pages, and the pages of most people in the public eye, are public pages - no one needs to join FB or Like the person in order to look at/read their FB page, though you do need a FB account to post.

I didn't say that they did. I was commenting on why people who can't stand a host  (or any public person) go there and  leave hateful messages.

Your comment "I don't understand why anyone would take the time to friend or "like" a persons (sic) FB page when they do not  like them" certainly sounds like you think people have to Like someone in order to follow them or post.

The "you must be jealous" thing is so old...and so untrue. But yeah, so easy to whip out. Not to mention that "hateful" is overblown...and open to individual interpretation anyway.

Some people do take the time to like pages. It may be old but that doesn't make it not true. Those who can't stand a host yet stalk their social media definitely got something going on otherwise why waste your time? Sounds like I touched a nerve.

Nope, sorry. LOL "touched a nerve." You're making incorrect statements about FB and I'm challenging that.  As far as "just jealous", I have long found it a ridiculous and juvenile comment, and have said so in these forums, *whoever or whatever* the subject was - no one 'speshul' in mind.

'Stalk'? LOLOL.

What incorrect statements have I made?

How would you know or not what I am talking about regarding jealous comments, you didn't even see them. Of course I know not everyone is jealous of hosts or celebs when they leave nasty comments but I have absolutely seen comments made by jealous bitter people. I have no problem with people who leave negative comments if they are talking about an experience they have had with a products, etc... but those aren't the comments I am talking about. I am talking about nasty comments I have seen that disparage someones looks, weight, etc.. Those cross the line. When people comment over and over for each post in that kind of manner, it is stalkerish. I don't know what else you would call continuing to make very negative comments on FB or other social media for a person they claim to dislike. That isn't normal behavior.

No, I don't think everyone who leaves negative comments is jealous but I have seen some and it makes me wonder why they continue to follow someone or like their pages if they felt that way.

Here's another important fact about facebook.

Prospective employers, employers, clients and people who may want to do business with you , WILL look at your facebook page and also look at your "like" pages in order to get a sense of who you are.  Don't post compromising photos of yourself if you're looking for a job or land that big contract.

We already know that law enforcement also looks at peoples facebook pages to solve crimes.

@Irshgrl31201

Thanks for your clarification but my post wasn't directed toward you. Woman Wink

I don't understand why people follow someone to make fun of them either, just like I don't understand people who follow a certain group would troll a group they don't like.

I don't understand the fame and adulation of Beyonce or Taylor Swift but I wouldn't dare "like" their pages and post negativity.

I have seen posts on QVC hosts Facebook that are very nasty. The same people post every day. Even on these forums there are posters who post nasty and mean comments about a host. Every day.

i don't understand....you don't like them, why talk about them all the time. I might say it once, but follow and stalk? No, to many other things to do.

I find it ironic that negative and mean posts are not allowed here.  But when you look at the hosts' FB pages, there are all sorts of horrible things said about them.  People are using their real names on FB too

(I do not think that negative and mean  things said about hosts should be allowed here - in case someone misunderstands my post)

I have a friend who has lots of friends on facebook and apparently she allows friends of friends or otherwise the entire world.  I remembered making one comment about her post and the next thing I knew I was the target.  I am now not a fan of Facebook and will not post.

That is how I feel. Time is precious and I certainly wouldn't waste my time on people I don't like. Why would you waste time on a person you can't stand? Makes no sense.

I joined fb in 2009 at my kids' suggestion and haven't regretted it at all. I've found long lost friends and relatives. I belong to a family group as well where we all catch up with one another from coast to coast. We post old photos and reminisce about our parents.

I also belong to several music groups that are private as well as medical groups that are also private.

I never ever post personal information except for a milestone birthday or anniversary.
