Even though I am a regular FB user, I think I can sympathize.

The structure of it is to create more social (sales?) ties that then multiply.

Somehow they make their money this way.

I have nieces/nephews/high school friends who are re-connecting with me.

My account is structured to prevent stuff/people I don't want to see.

My rant is with Pinterest-- a subject for another day!

Oh, please tell.  I look at my daughter's Pinterest sometimes and I know why she gets mad, maybe it's the same reason Smiley Happy

@Spurt@grandma2pkmh@Moonchilde@Q4u

Our DD and her friends used to post EVERYTHING THEY DID! They did not let the parents on (well, she said no way back then when I asked if I could get in on it).

These days, their posts center around more adult stuff, like getting enough sleep if they have kids LOLOL

LOL.....priorities do change........

My sis is addicted to FB....I hate to go anywhere with her....when we go shopping together she has to post what store we are at and what she's buying, if we stop for lunch, she posts what she's eating .....she even posts when she goes to church.....it's INSANE!!!

@Noel7

Pinterest started "tossing in things to buy" on my very own Pinterest boards!

tumblr too!

Then, almost 1 year ago, some entity went through and removed all copyrighted pins. (I do understand)

Google searches are useless these days.

Everything is copyrighted.

But, wondering how people sell stuff if it is yanked from searches,etc.

Oh well...

So are you saying all of the QVC host pages and all of the news public facebook pages are trying to sell something or are you referring the ads that may appear.  I'm confused.

Also, according to DD, Pinterest is not safe for posting pics of the grands.

She said that she over-reacted, but I never did it again.

Then she uses the kids pics as her profile picture... and it is mandatorily in the "public" setting! She probably knows more about it than I do.❤

Oh, yes, the ads. Definitely annoying.  I didn't know about anything copyrighted.

She gets mad because her feed has been getting areas of interest she never signed up for, AND not providing her areas of choice.  She says they change the algorithm on people.

@grandma2pkmh

On their Facebook Pages the hosts talk a lot about what is coming up on their respective shows (so I guess they are trying to sell you something or at least get you to watch, and then depending on your Facebook settings you did get ads in your feed.....which you can block

I wouldn't post pix of family or friends anywhere.  Too many creeps out there.  Although... the extended family does on Instagram, but who sees is controlled, supposedly.

Not that the OP probably intended it, but of course it's another perfect opportunity to bash FB and insinuate that everyone who experiences benefits from it or enjoys it is either a bore, a narcissist, or "has nothing better to do."

LOL. Join it, don't join it. Like it, hate it. But please can it with the stereotypes.

If you don't like what you see in your feed from friends and relatives, it's YOUR fault, not FB. FB isn't inherently dumb or evil either one - YOUR FRIENDS MAY BE, though, Your problem, not FB's.

Worried about your privacy? Okay, but realize that pretty much everything you *think* FB is passing around the internet about you is being passed on regardless by every *other* site you shop at or visit. Clickbait abounds *everywhere.*

Don't want to be on FB because of your job? Fine, but don't insinuate that anyone who is on FB doesn't know or care about their privacy - they're just not as paranoid as you are.

Bashing FB is never going to make it go away, and return business to "the way it used to be in the old days." Deal with it.
