yea - what is the deal with the face? I guess if a male is looking at the pic, he would not even notice the face.

I hear you, madzonie! I am FB friends with a woman I went to high school & church with. I haven't seen her since I graduated in 1978. Back then, she was sweet and shy. Boy, was I shocked to see her 55-year-old self in low, low cut tops and what I would call "boudoir" photos, flirting with men from all over the world, most of whom she obviously hasn't met. There are a couple of gals like that from my HS school days who choose to present themselves that way. I don't get it at all...so bizarre. I am happily married, but even if I were single, I can't imagine putting myself out there in that manner. If that makes me an "old prude" then I am happy to have that moniker.

I don't post many pix of myself because like many people I hate how I look in photos. I don't have friends or relatives who post the kind of pictures you describe (thankfully) but I do have one (female) friend who posts a new model head tilt pose a week. All the pix are very similar - if I was going to do that, I'd think the point would be why bother if they all look the same? and they do. Same hair, same ordinary makeup, same smile, same pose, same facial expression. I don't get why there has to be a new one once a week.

I agree with WenGirls comment. People who post pics like that are what she stated. So you are not a prude.
And to add I have 200 and some friends and family on my facebook (of all ages) and none of them post the kinds of pics you describe OP.

This pretty much sums it up. I would be more understanding if it was just the young girls in high school, many not old enough to have developed a strong sense of self and identity, still relying on the approval of others.
But what is it with mature (and downright getting old) women who feel this need? I thought we had come so much farther than this.
I have to say I find it disgusting at any age. And it is another down side to today's technology. I have to wonder if so many do it as they feel 'peer pressured'. Kind of the 'everybody is doing it' thing.
