Facebook "friending" question...

I feel bad because I'm the one "friending" everyone else. I feel like I have made absolutely no impact on anyone enough for them to look me up. Should I feel bad about this or do some people tend to friend others and others are more passive? Or, am I just not liked too much--FB kind of gives me a complex because I don't have 1000 friends and all my "friends" do. I have only been on for a short time--does it take time for people to "find" others or am I just kidding myself?
