Re: Facebook public page question

@Love my grandkids , My DH actually has 2 accounts.  The first one he tried to do over the phone and something apparently went wrong.  He probably mis-typed his password or something, you know how phones love to auto-correct.  He couldn't get back into it and tried to get FB to help him or delete the account with no luck.  He created his 2nd account on the computer and that's the one he uses.  he never posts, only occasionally reads.

I just checked, and that other account is still out there and his 3 friends all wished him happy birthday on Jan 1 2023.  That's not his Birthday.  Not sure if he input that or if FB did that for him.  I have mine hidden, so nobidy except my sister ever wishes me a Happy Birthday.

I logged out of my FB to test it.

It will not let me look at her page, the box to sign up just keeps popping up.

They must have changed it.

My advice, just make a fake Facebook and keep everything private/don't add any friends and you will be fine.

@MezzieStarr  so it isn't just my iPad they have changed it

thanks for the advice that sounds like reasonable way to be on but not be on actually !   I've just never been interested in being on social media is why I never was really tempted to

@Kitty Galore.  I don't know why you can't read the sites you've seen in the past.  Why don't you sign up for Facebook so you can access what you want to see?  You don't have to look at anything else.  It's not scary.  I promise goblins won't get you.

@Kachina624  yes I realize it's not scary !   I have just never been interested in being on social media is all .

@MezzieStarr I know someone who did that. FB somehow figured it out and shut down the fake account and sent him a warning that if he did it again, he'd be kick off FB permanently.

@Love my grandkids  wow !   Kind of drastic !   Of course if I were kicked off I wouldn't care !

@Kitty Galore ....Like you,  I am not on Facebook but I check in occasionally on some sites or people.   I have noticed the same problem/change recently.  I think this has happened before and after awhile it goes back to normal access. (Keyword...😉think)  So, I'm trying to be patient for awhile.  Then I'll check back in....if no access...oh well....nothing I can't live without.

@walker "nothing I can't live without". TotallynAgree !

@mrshckynut  No I do not have an account ,  that's just it .  In the past and for years I could access the public page for any company or person.  Not anymore though.

@Mom2Dogs.  You have the choice of not accepting a friend request.  I never have accepted one.
