Facebook games

I have an account with Facebook but extremely basic and only with my personal friends. I get a lot of requests for all the "villes" - Farmvile, etc. plus others. I don't do anything like ignore, etc. and do not respond at all. Am I missing something? If anyone here plays how do you like the sites?
