I really appreciate your input.  Glad to know it's not just me.  Hopefully it clears up.

@LTT1   I don't belong to Facebook so I have no way of logging in.  Businesses, parks, etc. should want to have their websites accessible to all, not just Facebook users.

Websites are accessible to all.

May I ask, without being rude, what you do not like about logging in?

I cannot think of anywhere I go on the internet where I do not need to be logged in.

They ask for your email and password to log in to your facebook account.  I do not have one so I can only view public facebook accounts.  Like Lisa Robertson's.

@beckyb1012 You don't have one what, e-mail or password?  You create your own password.  There's plenty of free e-mail clients that you can use.  You had to have an E-mail and password to log in here. I have an E-mail specifically for my online activities so I don't get e-mail from them mixed in with e-mails from friends & family although I've never received an E-mail from Facebook.

I do not have a facebook account.  Yes I have email one for personal and one for my business but I choose not to be a member of facebook.  That means I cannot log into their system and can only view public accounts.  I log into the places I do have an account but not facebook.  I was on it for a short time and way too many people I had never heard of were requesting to be my friend.  So I closed it.  Plus I have a stalker ex husband of 23 years so that is a big reason to not be to "out" there.

You don't have to use your real name.

You could change the spelling of your last name and use initials or a nickname, old or new, for your first name.

I am not a registered user of Facebook, so I cannot log in. I chose not to register.

A class action privacy-related lawsuit was recently settled.

"Facebook's parent, Meta, in December 2022 agreed to pay $725 million to settle a host of privacy-related class action lawsuits alleging, among other things, that Facebook let third parties access its users' private data and that of their friends without users' permission." Aug 17, 2023.

Just one of the many reasons I don't use or trust Facebook.

As if this place is private.  I've never seen a Facebook post show up in a Google search.

Most companies sell your personal information, some will ask you if you don't wan tthem to but the majority of them just do it. Thats why when your online ads seemed to be tailored for you or what you were recently talking about, your cell phone even listens and ads come up based on that, if you think you have privacy your wrong.

I have had a desktop computer since 1984 and have used the internet since Juno was a "dial-up."  Just difficult to understand all the paranoia about using it.

Just remember...that computer, tablet or phone or watch is just a piece of metal.  It can't bite!

Educate yourself and use it.  Google is your friend.

It is a wonderful invention.

@Kachina624

I agree!

I have not been very active lately on FB but I maintain "a presence".

I started w/FB in 2004vin order to try and keep up with my DD!

Had I not, I wonder if I would have known at all what she was up to!

These days., I belong to a book club and we meet nearby once per month. The lady who set up the group did so thru FB.

'Another couple of groups for me center around discussions of autoimmune conditions. I find the people in these groups quite knowledgeable!
