Facebook Help Me Please

Got my dd's Senior PIctures done. The photographer will put the photos up on Facebook and something about "tagging""" them. I don't do Facebook. Don't care to. HOwever my other daughter has a Facebook account we could put the pictures into.

I am confused about this "tagging thing". I don't want everyone in the world to see her photos with her name on it. I know only your "friends" can see your Facebook page but I remember reading something about if you put something in your Facebook account with "tags" on it that everytime a picture of you shows up anywhere in the Facebook world it will identify you with your name. Is that true?
