Same here, and they take and post great pictures too! Can't understand blaming facebook because your friends are boring and they take and post bad pictures!

FB is what you make of it. You can lock it down or open it, depending on your settings. Each person creates their own environment. If people don't know how to improve/change their feed they can ask for help from others if they are interested enough. Like several others who have already commented, I have reconnected with old friends and keep in touch with far-flung family through FB. I also have FB friends I've found on forums I belong to, with interests shared. To some extent FB is what it is, warts and all, but it's also a personal creation based on interests that takes minimal effort to get moving.

I'm not part of Facebook, and still get to see pictures of distance relatives or friends usually sent through texts.

I feel like texting is a more 'one on one' and I don't have to deal with all the 'boring' context of what people are doing minute by minute, the bad day they're having, (stupid) random thoughts or rants.

I don't feel disconnected at all by not being a part of Facebook.

Excellent advice.

I thought though, even if you delete it, you're still used for so-called marketing research through the email used upon signing up. I don't know. I've never joined.

I only have family & close friends. I keep in touch with them in California. I belong to several community yardsale & event pages. I enjoy the pictures & communication. I do not follow any hosts or celebrities.

But don't you want to know why Persnippity chose the avocado green tinted toe enamel during her pedicure? Gasp! This is critical information!

Thru FB we were able to get together a group of 40 people for an Elementary and Jr High reunion, it was rather amazine

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

i don't use facebook for dealing with people. i follow companies/products that i use, celebrities and tv shows, etc. i know when sales will happen before the general public because most will release it on facebook first. i belong to groups that pertain to my city and area that i live in. our school system has facebook and twitter accounts that keep parents up-to-date. same thing for twitter and instagram - i am signed up to follow people/shows and companies that interest me. i am not interested in have 1000 followers and so-called friends to brag about and prove i am popular! i left that mentality behind in high-school! i enjoy and use all three of them every day because i taylored them all to my wants and tastes.
