@Susan423   I am not tossing mine.  Still required for train, bus, and travel by air and many businesses.

The cloth ones and the disposable are not taking up any precious space and if anything occurs that requires their use I will  be a bit ahead.

Significant Other and I are getting our second Pfizer shot next Tuesday at our nearby CVS.  Hurrah!

It was nervewracking trying to obtain a slot even though we should have been vaccinated much sooner due to our age bracket but the online and/or phone alternative was far from reliable--many, many hiccups and slots swooped up in less than ten minutes each morning.

Even those not wanting to wear them any more due to COVID should hang onto them.  A case of the hanta virus was recently reported in Michigan.  It's contracted from mouse waste. Occasionally in winter I get mice in the house til I get rid of them. I always wear a mask if I need to sweep up droppings so as not to contract the virus.  My attic is dusty so I wear a mask if I go up there (there are parts of my attic I can't physically get to so I can't do anything about the dust there).

It might be a good idea to wear a mask to the grocery or drug store during flu season; the shot doesn't protect against all flu strains.

So keep them. Don't be in such a hurry to get rid of masks!

No need to toss them.  I have two boxes of disposables masks, and probably 15 cloth masks.  I have to say I have not had a cold or sinus infection in two years.  And....when and if we need them again, I don’t want to pay $50 a box like my first box.  Last box was 7.99.  I washed my cloth masks daily.  Had enough for several days and some holiday masks.  My SO wears all disposable masks.  I bought several black cloth masks a few weeks ago for .50 each.  Leave a few in the car.

Yeah, I'm still wearing my masks too. I was just talking way down the road.

 Yes, I walked in Trader Joe's yesterday and few were wearing masks.  Next stop, Costco...same situation.  However, I doubt this freedom will last long...For a short while, the ability to breathe.  However, I'm afraid you might be right, given the "expert" at the helm.

@phoenixbrd

Are you speaking of the former “expert at the helm”.  ?

Because, This short term, ability to breath, was brought to you by the current “expert at the helm”.  !!!

Given the # who refuse to vaccinate, and the # who never wore a mask, I think I’ll hold on to mine.  Thank you   !

@lynnie61  Great point about the cost, if we need them again. Disposable masks and sanitizers have gotten really cheap now but still, it always boils down to supply and demand. As another poster said, I don't think it'll be another 100 years before another need to mask up.

Fortunately, at the beginning of the pandemic, I found a box of masks I'd bought years ago when I had raccoons in my attic and had to go up there to see what was making noise!  When I found the box of masks, it turns out I'd bought N-95s. I had no idea what I was buying back then! They were the cheapest box at the medical supply store during my raccoon invasion long before the pandemic.

@Pearlee   That is funny about your raccoons. But when I got the first box, believe me I couldn’t find them anywhere and was so happy to get a box of 50 for $50.  That’s before all the cloth masks started to appear.  They said the N 95s used to be cheap at Home Depot, Lowe’s, etc.  What a racket.

@lynnie61  Better raccoons in my attic than bats 🦇  in my belfry.

😂  Actually the raccoons weren't so funny at the time!
