I read that quilting fabric is the best.

I bought a couple cute ones from a seller on Etsy and I got several plain black ones that are extremely comfortable and good fitting from Los Angeles Apparel for when I go back to work (soon I hope!!!). And I have a couple awning stripe, blue and white, that a friend's friend made.
I just ordered one of the pretty floral ones from Love Kuza. Thanks for the heads up, @occasionalrain ! And @Greeneyedlady21
I have a feeling we'll be wearing this for some time to come. Might as well be cute!

I was hoping mask season would only last a few weeks. I was rationing trips to make a pack of 10 disposable masks last. I finally broke down and ordered four cotton masks from Etsy. I chose masks in the colors I wear most often.

I have three. One is rather hot but probably offers the most protection. The other two are lighter and will be used more on hot days. When we get those hot days.

@september I wear surgical masks but I have three cotton masks also that I use to throw garbage down the compactor on my floor and to get my mail from the lobby. One is a knit cotton and the other two are quilter's cotton from Etsy. The Etsy ones are cooler, both are doable. But the most comfortable masks if this goes on into the dog days would be the surgical masks. They are much more pleasant to breath with.

@stuyvesant I'm sure a surgical type mask would be best for longer periods of time. I had one of those last week, and after about two hours, my Etsy purchased knit mask was too hot and kind of sweaty since I had to do a lot of talking during that time.
will try one of the cotton ones for my next meeting.
and may buy other masks, too. I keep rethinking where this is going to go.

Good quilting fabrics are tightly woven
@september Would that make them hot? Right now I'm doing fine with a cotton mask. It doesn't fog up my glasses and I don't have any difficulty wearing it. It has pleats and elastic that goes around the ears. I only have one so I'm thinking of getting another made of quilting fabric.

I'm going all in and Fashion Forward.
Anyone care to join?
Ask me again in a year.
Right now I jump every time I see one. Not that many masks being worn in public here. Anything dark or bright or printed looks like a mask on a character from a horror movie. White is as bad as black. I’m never going to be close enough to anyone wearing a mask to see that it is a cute little print.
The masks I have are one color, very neutral beige or pale pink. They are meant to blend in (not that any mask is going to blend in) rather than jump out and slap people in the face.
