I have a friend whom I met in Costa Rica several years past. There was an almost instant connection! It felt as if I had always known her!🥰 We talked for several hours over coffee, and have been friends ever since; though we seldom talk as she is QUITE busy! Had it not been for her, I never would have ziplined, as a way to conquer my fears regarding my medical issues! She was with me every step of the way!❤️

Do you have a friend or friends whom you treasure?

I have a few people that I would consider true friends. One I met in 6th grade. She lives in Georgia now. But when we talk on the phone or she comes to town to visit we pick up like we have never been apart. We know we are there for one another. And accept each other for who we are. The good and the bad. A few friends I met in the military. And I knew when I first met them that we would be life long friends and we still are.

actually I do have a BFF, (68yrs ago) we met in fifth grade, been together ever since. There isn't anything we don't know about each other. We ar e so different in many ways. If we compared to Beaches, I am the Bette character for sure, red hair and all.i was in the arts, and had a rocky start for years,  she was married and always had a steady good job lol.   She is like the Barbara Hershey role. But it works. She has been ill with tumor as well, and just got out of rehab. But doing okay, though alone ...and I worry. She is in another state now, and I can't travel.    Husband and her split after 50 plus yrs! It is nice to have a friend who knows everything about you, your family, grew up with you, knows your mom , dad, siblings!  Never any explaining of the past. We just start with day to day stuff now.

I have 3 friends like that .   We have  known each other since 3rd grade.   We've been there for each other through all the ups and downs , marriages, divorces , kids, illneses all of it !   They know where all the bodies are buried so to speak lol !😂. One lives in another state but when we have what we call a phone dates as we call them we pick up where we left off ,  we laugh and laugh over all the crazy things we've dont through the years !   There is nothing I can't tell these true friends ,   They know me as well as I know myself .   True friends are the greatest thing in life!   They know my whole family and I know there's .  They were in my wedding, me in there's .   We refer to ourselves as Forever friends!! Can't imagine my life without my choosen sisters !!  Oh and I do have biological sisters Who I do love as well.

@SandySparkles   Yes, I do.  Our parents grew up together, we did too, went to school together, knew each other's extended families - the whole enchilada.  She's my very best friend and I really need to try and get together with her and her husband. They moved to Florida (I'm in MD) but it's been too long, although we do talk at least once a month for about 3 hours!

I am a very fortunate woman. I have a nice group of friends. But like you @SandySparkles I became friends with a woman I worked with when we were both in our forties. We were reps for Hasbro and our teams worked together a handful of times. I don't remember who reached out first, but we became phone friends, talking about work at first.

We found that we had a lot in common and started meeting for lunch and shopping once a month. Talked on the phone and texted each other multiple times a week. We used to joke that we were sisters from another mother!

It will be nine years in April that I lost her to ovarian cancer. I think about her and miss her every day.💔

@Kitty Galore Welcome!🥰 WOW!! How BLESSED you are to have such LONG LASTING partners in crime!😁 I smiled warmly through each sentence! Unfortunately, I have no friends from my childhood, as we moved around quite a bit!

Friendships like yours is what this thread is all about, and I THANK you SO very much for sharing such heart-hugging sentiments!💝
