This is weird ...  I thought the FS was just on Saturday.

Today, Sunday, I've gotten two emails from QVC saying free shipping.  Wish I'd known.

Will do, @LizzieInSRQ .   I've had fairly good luck with "as is" items-- some things arrive in perfect shape, no defects at all.  But over the years, have received a few duds too. You just never know...

Re: FREE SHIPPING TODAY

@LizzieInSRQ ,  you wanted me to report back on my "As Is" items.  ( They were the " As Is Fierce Home Set of 3 Ribbed Flameless Candles")

They are 3 glass candles, and I just popped batteries in and they work. (yay).  There was an enclosed remote, which already had its battery in it, and it worked perfectly too. ( yay).

The gold "dipping" on the bottom part of the glass seems perfect and even.  I did notice one thing--  the tallest candle *might* be slightly tilted when compared to the others which sit perfectly straight.  But that might be due to wax or a little glue on the bottom of the tallest, which I wiped off on the others-- will check further.  At any rate, it's only from one side that it looked slightly tilted...

Of course, I'd love all 3 to be perfect.  But if one is less than par, I would say I'm still am pleased to get 2 pretty, modern glass candles with remote, for $14 and free shipping!

So, that's what "as is" is like.  In my case, when I've taken the chance, I get more good items than bad.  Worth the gamble, sometimes.

Edited later to add --  bummer, I cleaned off the bottom edges carefully, and the tallest one still has the funny, slight little tilt. Even hubby noticed when I asked him to evaluate all three.  So, @LizzieInSRQ ,  I guess that's just further evidence that "as is" can be a gamble.  But I'm still glad to have the other two in perfect condition.

I wonder if they decided to offer free shipping today because their weekend sales were below expectations.  Or maybe it requires more advanced planning than that.  We will never know.  But it is always nice to get free shipping as long as the item price did not got up.
