Thank you for the heads-up. I still have tests over from before; they have a 7/26 expiration date. Dio you think they would still work / be accurate?

Ordered mine, thanks for reminder.

First batch exp in June and the second in July. I guess I should toss them out? I don't know if there is any leeway in terms of the expiration dates and hate to just throw them out.
I hope when people get them, they have more time on them than the ones I got earlier this year.
@chickenbutt They're supposed to be good for 3-4 months past the expiration date. So if the expiration date was June '22 the update was they're good till September.
Awesome! Thanks. I did not know that at all. ![]()

My personal feeling is get another free set if you're allowed to. I have reached my limit.
I tested positive on a home test last Tuesday at 3am, the convenience of being able to do that during such a miserable time is priceless. And in spite of being vaccinated with two boosters, my covid experience has been pretty miserable. I will take all the precautions I can to avoid getting it again.
I hope you have a quick recovery. This version of the virus is determined to infect us. Take care.

You can also get eight free Covid tests at your pharmacy through Medicare. I went to Walgreens and got mine yesterday. They expire a year from now.
I did read an article where they had extended the expiration date for the earlier Covid tests. Since I can't post a link here, just Google "extended expiration dates for Covid tests." There's a list at fda.gov that gives the names of the test kits with original and extended expiration dates. @chickenbutt I wanted to make sure you saw this.

I ordered mine in late June or early July. The ones I received all expired by August 20th. I think they were left overs from the first time the free tests were offered because they also expired in August.
